| Schedule
Schedule as we know, is the process of defining the usage of a building for the week based on the services offered/operation of the building and facilitates the HVAC needs for the corresponding occupancy.
The application that aids the process of scheduling is the scheduler. Scheduling is a very important and time-consuming aspect of the BMS.
| Revamped Scheduler Overview
The new scheduling system simplifies the workflow of schedules and user limits at various levels and eases the need for custom applications at these levels. The new scheduling system provides the following.
- User Flexibility to create edit and assign schedules.
- Provides ease of use for a new user or Facility Manager newly introduced to the system.
- Harness power of Haystack for Mass Application.
- Provides more control to the user while editing user limits and deadbands across the system.
| What's New/ Changed or Enhanced
In order to favor the above-mentioned advantages, the revamped scheduler introduces the following changes/enhancements.
| Building Schedule to Building Occupancy
The Building Schedule in the heatmap page of the internal portal for the site will no longer have the desired temperatures and will henceforth represent the start and stop time of the building.
The entire concept of the Building Schedule is removed from the system.
Before:
After:
The same applies to the building schedule in the installer option screen in the CCU, as below.
For more information on Building Occupancy and Scheduler Interactivity please refer to Building Occupancy.
| Clearer and Better Demarcation:
With the new scheduler comes the new demarcation, with reference legends, which is clearer and better for the user to differentiate the occupancy and the unoccupied time.

For more information on the Building Occupancy refer to Building Occupancy.
| Ease of Interaction
Interacting with the revamped scheduler to define occupancy is way easier. It resembles more like an Excel table, where you can click and drag to select the cells as in the occupied hours and set them as Building occupancy.
It doesn't stop there it also supports the other interactivity aspect the Excel table support that uses a combination of the command key, clicks, and drags (CTRL+ click/ SHIFT+ click) to edit, delete, and modify the start and stop time in the building occupancy.
For more information on the interactivity aspect of the scheduler refer to Building Occupancy.
| Zone, Named, & Special Schedules Enhancement
With the building schedule no longer in the system, enhancements have been made to the zone, named and special schedules in the system to address custom requirements for the user at a zone level.
| User Limits at all Levels
The user limits that were only at the building level, are now available at the zone level during all types of schedule-defining processes, as schedulable parameters.
Zone Schedule Setting
Portal
CCU
The master controller will by default display the settings as below:
- Default Scheduled start and stop time at 08:00 AM and 05:30 PM respectively.
- Default Heating and Cooling User Limits at 67F and 72F; 72F and 77F respectively.
- Default Unoccupied Zone Setback: 5
- The minimum and maximum heating user limit can be set between 50F and 100F respectively.
- The minimum and maximum cooling user limit can be set between 50F and 100F respectively.

Note: Similar user limits exist for zone special schedules and building special schedules.
A click on the occupied part of the schedules would let the user access the user limits that can be modified for the schedule set. (Every occupied slot in the zone schedule can have its dedicated user limits)
| Deadbands as Schedulable Parameters
The Heating and Cooling Deadbands are no longer a tuner parameter, with the new scheduler they are schedulable parameters at all levels and part of all schedules defining process.

- Default settings for Heating and Cooling Deadband is 2F and 2F respectively.
- The heating and cooling Deadband can be set between 0F to 10F (with a difference of 0.5F)
| Unoccupied Zone Set Back as Schedulable Parameter
The Unoccupied Zone Setback is also no longer a tuner parameter, with the new scheduler, this is a schedulable parameter at all levels and part of all schedule-defining processes.
Note: A click on the unoccupied part of the schedules would let the user access the unoccupied zone setback that can be modified for the schedule set.
With the user limits and deadbands on the scheduler, the Facility manager and support users can set the required schedules with the required desired temperatures, without having to go to tuners section for the same.

In the CCU, the building limit as well adds to the Master Controller, which was previously a tuner parameter.

With the above capability any required Building limits, User Limits, Deadbands, BuildingtoZone Differential and Unoccupied Zone Setback at the building level can be set.
| Using Building Temperature Settings for the Zone Schedule
The scheduler also supports a toggle that, allows the user the set a zone schedule that uses the building user limits, deadbands and unoccupied zone setback configured in the CCU master controller, as limits for the schedule at the zone level.
Enabling the toggle would set a zone schedule that uses building user limits, deadbands and unoccupied zone setback configured in the CCU master controller.
At CCU the same is cascaded, as below.
Note: If the toggle is enabled for the following building settings at the zone level, then editing the temperature settings is restricted at the zone schedule level.
| Impact of Revamped Scheduler on Tuners
The revamped scheduler has a significant impact on tuners where the tuners associated with the building inputs such as buildingLimitMin, buildingLimitMax, buildingtoZoneDifferential, heatingDeadband, coolingDeadband, userLimitCoolingMin, userLimitCoolingMax, userLimitHeatingMin, userLimitHeatingMax, unoccupiedzonesetback do not exist in the revamped scheduler as they used to do in the previous version.
The tuners now exist as schedulable parameters under different schedules in the revamped version of the scheduler.

Revamped Version
Note: If an already existing site is updated to the new V2 Scheduler version then all the tuners mentioned would be still visible under the tuners section. However, they won't be applicable in the current revamped scheduler.
