| Overview
The Carrier BMS follows a dual temperature setpoint as its principal mechanism to control and automate the building-level HVAC equipment, to try and maintain a temperature within these set points.
There is a cooling and heating setpoint temperature and a cooling and heating Deadband within the setpoint limits. Conditioning is triggered only when the temperature in the building increases above the cooling setpoint temperature or decreases below the heating setpoint temperature. Within the setpoint temperature limits the deadband, no conditioning is triggered by the building HVAC equipment.
The HyperStat which is a signature product of the Carrier BMS, also followed the same, but with its sleek features and exemplary sensing capabilities, standalone operating capability, and capability to operate as a salve/client in Modbus/BACnet networks, the HyperStat could be in greater demand, you never know in what other BMS models the hyperstat could be a part.
Hence with the intention and the vision towards platform play and interoperability, to support all possible use cases, when not connected to the CCU of the Carrier BMS system, the HyperStat supports three types of temperature modes in which it could operate, where the setpoints/deadbands are defined.
- DUAL VARIABLE DEADBANDS/ SETPOINTS
- DUAL FIX DEADBANDS / SETPOINTS
- SINGLE DEADBANDS / SETPOINTS
