| Overview
The HyperStat is an advanced IAQ thermostat and comes with up to 8 onboard sensors making it unique in the building management space.
Owing to its vision towards platform play and interoperability, the Carrier has added more features to HyperStat on top of the onboard sensing and control capabilities, making it robust and a desired commercial thermostat.
Listed below are a few of the key capabilities of the HyperStat:
| Sensing Capabilities
With up to 8 onboard sensors, it can conveniently sense and supply the following parameter values.
- Temperature values
- Humidity Values
- CO2 levels
- Volatile Organic Compound levels
- Occupancy Detection
- Light Intensity Level
- Sound Intensity Levels
- Particulate Matter - Configurable for PM2.5 or PM10 (optional)
| Operating Capabilities
The HyperStat can not only operate in a Carrier ClimaVision connected mode, where it is paired to the CCU, but it can also operate in other networks and as a standalone device following are the three modes in which a HyperStat can operate.
- HyperStat in Carrier ClimaVison BMS connected mode, for more information refer HyperStat CPU
- HyperStat as a Standalone device, where just HyperStat can be used to control room level and building level equipment. For more information refer to HyperStat Standalone CPU, HyperStat Standalone HPU (Heat Pump Unit), HyperStat Standalone 4 Pipe FCU (Fan Coil Unit), HyperStat Standalone 2Pipe FCU (Fan Coil Unit).
HyperStat with 3rd-part BMS speaking BACnet or Modbus
- Note: This mode is available on a different part number (7C-HS-K7W-X) Called the BACnet HyperStat
- HyperStat as Modbus Slave, where HyperStat can operate as a slave to a Modbus master in a Modbus network. For more information refer to HyperStat as Modbus Slave.
- HyperStat as a BACnet client, where HyperStat can operate as a client in a BACnet server framework. For more information refer to HyperStat as a BACnet Client
| Other Capabilities
Different Temperature Modes: HyperStat can work in different temperature modes as follows:
- Single Deadband/ Setpoint Temperature mode, where a single temperature value is used, and HyperStat monitors the room conditions and control the equipment to maintain the room temperature to the set value.
- Dual Fixed Deadband/ Setpoint Temperature mode, where two temperature values are used and HyperStat monitors the room conditions and control the equipment to maintain the room temperature within the set value, when one of the temperature values is changed the other value also changes to maintain the set deadband.
- Dual Variable Deadband/ Setpoint Temperature mode, where two temperature values are used and HyperStat monitors the room conditions and control the equipment to maintain the room temperature within the set value, when one of the temperatures values is changed the other value does not change, there can be a variation in the deadband.
For more information refer to HyperStat Temperature Mode Setting
HyperStat Usage Globalization: To support customers across different geographies, HyperStat can switch the display temperature values and units in Fahrenheit and Celsius. For more information refer HyperStat Usage Globalization
