| Overview

HyperStat Split is the best-in-class thermostat that can measure parameters in the zone and controls equipment at zone and system levels (RTUs & FCUs) by connecting seamlessly over two wires reducing the cost of additional cabling. For more information on the device refer to HyperStat Split Overview & Installation

With the vision towards platform play and greater interoperability in the building management space, the HyperStat Split is built and developed in such a way that it can either, work in a ClimaVision BMS environment connected to ClimaVision's CCU configured for system and terminal level profiles, or can support an external Modbus network as a Modbus server, or it can also work as an independent or standalone device which can work as per profiles which can be configured in the HyperStat Split itself.

The HyperStat Split when used in a BACnet network provides the capability to the customer, to configure a HyperStat Split in a BACnet MSTP-based (Master-Slave Token Passing) protocol using the RS 485 bus, and it can work both as master or salve and read and write the data in a certain format in the BMS. With its powerful onboard sensors. HyperStat Split can be an excellent asset to the BACnet-supported BMS.

| Wiring

HyperStat Parts ID.png

The wiring that is used to connect a Modbus device to a HyperStat Split is called the RS485 communication protocol. The RS485 connector uses a three-wire protocol as shown below:

blobid1-109.png

It comprises an earthing sheath and a twisted pair of wires. Every Modbus device has an 'A' and 'B' indication in them, for aiding the wiring.

The earthing or the ground wire is usually earthed only at one point. Normally, this connection is made at one end of the main cable, in this case, it is connected to the ground point of the COnnect Module.

For the Twisted pair of wires, there are no specific color criteria that are followed, it can be of any color. The wire that is connected to the 'A' indication point in the Modbus device is connected to the 'A' indication point in the Connect Module, and the wire that is connected to the 'B' indication point in the Modbus device is connected to the 'B' indication point in the COnnect Module.

For other factors to be considered while wiring an RS485 cable kindly refer to Modbus/BACnet Wiring and General Guidelines

| Wiring Harness

The ClimaVision supports a type of wiring harness to meet the need for Daisy Chain HyperStat Split in a Modbus network.

3 Wire to 6 Wire Screw Connector

This uses a 4-pin Molex connector at one end and a 6-wire, screw connector at the other end, you can simply twist the four wires and insert them into the screw slots provided for connection.
