| Overview
The Community Engagement feature is designed to enhance user engagement, improve quality, and grow a sustainable contributor ecosystem. It achieves this by combining social interaction, gamified recognition, and structured feedback mechanisms that empower both creators and consumers.
The Activity Feed & Leader Board serves as the central hub for discovery, interaction, and engagement across the platform. It aggregates community-driven widgets, highlights active contributors, and provides entry points into feedback and collaboration workflows.
Primary Goals:
- Increase high-quality widget creation.
- Encourage consistent contributor participation.
- Enable meaningful community interactions.
- Provide transparent recognition and growth paths for contributors.
- Establish feedback loops to enhance widget quality continually.
| What's Changed or Enhanced
With the community engagement introduction, we have introduced a few changes to a few parts of the portals.
Let's us deep dive into the changes & enhancements in the following sections.
| User Profile Enhancements
With the enhancements in the community engagement, we now have an option to upload a picture of the user during the user creation, along with the other details.
Users can add a picture or an avatar as shown below.
The added avatar displays in the profile information as shown below.
For the user without an avatar, the initials of the first and last names reflect as shown below.
A user profile with an avatar added reflects as below.
Note: The above change applies to all types of user in the portal.
| Commenting Capability on Contributions
As a part of the enhancement, a comment icon is added as in all common framework tools, alongside the like and bookmark.
Users can use this option to comment or provide feedback on the contributions to the community.
The commenting and feedback capability is also made available in other places
On the view & edit part of the builders as well, as shown below.
On the applied tool, as shown below.
On the contributions details from the Leaderboard as shown below.
Note: The comment can be a message (1000 characters permitted per comment), or an attachment (5MB permitted)
| Activity Feed/ Leader Board
A new icon activity feed is introduced in the internal portal as follows.
The activity feed window displays.
Within the activity feed is the Leaderboard.
- Click the leader board icon to access the leader board.
The leaderboard with the details of the users and their corresponding contributions to the community, in terms of common framework tools displays.
- Click the common framework tools to view the contributions of the user to the different tool sets.
Users can follow another user for newer updates, which inturn contribute the the selected users score.
- Click on a user to find the user's score and rank in the community.
And the details about the contributions to the tool set.
