| Overview

The HyperStat Split can now be wired to an external Modbus client/ BMS/ or the CCU for communication and control, and act as a server to the client in a Modbus-based BMS or an external BMS.

The above capability is provisioned with the introduction of communication options in the HyperLite, and when that configuration is changed in the HyperLite via the communication options, the HyperStat Split will be able to start communication with the external Modbus client/ BMS/ or the CCU respond to its user intents and sequences.

| Wiring

The wiring that is used to connect a Modbus client/ BMS/ or the CCU to a HyperStat Split is called the RS485 system & the RS485 Daisy chain Adapter

The RS485 connector uses a three-wire protocol as shown below:

The RS485 Daisy chain Adapter looks like this, as shown below:

Using the above wire combination the wiring of HyperStat Split to external Modbus client/ BMS/ or the CCU  is achieved.

For more information on how to wire HyperStat Split in such wired environments, refer Wired HyperStat Split

For other factors to be considered while wiring an RS485 cable into a Modbus client kindly refer to Modbus/BACnet Wiring and General Guidelines
