| Overview

The ClimaVision edge devices are paired with the CCU to communicate back and forth with the CCU and the terminal-level equipment in the ClimaVision system.

The pairing process was pretty simple the edge devices broadcast the MAC addresses over Bluetooth which the CCU picks, and a pairing pin is displayed on the edge device entered in the CCU.

If the Bluetooth connectivity fails for some reason, the user cannot pair the edge device to the CCU,  unless the process is restarted.

To address such pairing failed scenarios, the ClimaVision system introduces a new paradigm the alternate pairing which is otherwise called the manual pairing.

This lets the user pair the edge device even when the Bluetooth connectivity fails, without restarting the process again.
